After working as artistic director of the “Contemporaneamente dance group”in Spoleto, Italy with Sara Libori and Arianna De Angelis, in collaboration with the performer Bruno Valentino Perillo, in 2007 Vanessa Tamburi established the company “FLUSSO Dance Project”, of which she is currently artistic director and choreographer. In October 2008 she founded the first Festival of Contemporary Dance in Tanzania, VISA 2 DANCE in collaboration with Aloyce Makonde and Rachel Kessi (Mawazo Art Center), following edition 2009/2010/2011, then TIME2DANCE (edition 2012 -13-14-15-16-17-19).

 

In 2015, she founded IDACO NYC - Italian DAnce COnnection, Italian Contemporary Dance Festival week in NYC (following edition 2016 -17-18-19) of which she is currently the managing and Artistic Director. FLUSSO danceproject's goal is to spread knowledge of contemporary dance as an expressive language that goes across different formative languages. Since 2008, FDP has also been focused on dance projects to help build bridges across different national and cultural boundaries and foster mutual understanding between communities. These are key elements in bringing about positive social change.
